The difference between MB and MA spherical roller bearings

Spherical roller bearings are a very common type of roller bearing. We have previously learned about the difference between CC and CA. Today, let's learn about the difference between MB and MA.

MA - Machined brass cage, outer ring guide

The outer ring is generally stationary, and the outer ring guide facilitates the lubricating oil to enter the guide surface and raceway. High-speed gearboxes are oil mist lubricated, and the use of rotating inner ring guides will squeeze out the oil.

Outer ring guides are generally used in high-speed, stable load situations. For example, when the bearing is subjected to a fixed value of axial load, the speed of each ball does not change much during rotation, and the rotation of the cage will not be unbalanced.

MB - Machined brass cage, rolling element guide

The standard structure of the general design is rolling element guide, such as short cylindrical roller bearings, which use rolling element guides. The cage does not contact the inner and outer flanges, and the cage can be used universally. However, when the rolling element speed increases at high speed, the rotation is unstable. Therefore, rolling element guides are suitable for medium speed and medium load, such as gearbox bearings.
